FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We are happy to answer any questions you may have anytime for our buyers and sellers here at Wichita Livestock, but for a quick answer check out some of our most frequently asked questions below.

The short answer: Yes! We are available to receive in cattle 24/7 as long as you give us a heads up when you are on the way if it is outside of our normal weekly hours. Any cattle that come in before our sale on Wednesday will be yarded back on feed and water until Wednesday when we sort everything for the sale that day.

While we are happy to sell your cattle, we strive to market your cattle the best we can to get you the best market value. The more information you provide us especially on groups of calves such as weaning, vaccinations and other herd health protocols all help to give our buyers confidence in the cattle as they run through the sale ring and this information is displayed on our marketing screen. We do also ask that you give us a current mailing address where your check to be mailed to and a valid phone number in case we need to get in touch with you!

Yes our sale order is the same each week so you can get a rough idea of when your cattle will sell if you are staying to watch in person or would like to login online.

Our sale starts at 9:30 each week unless otherwise posted.

Sellers checks are available once all your cattle have sold; you are more than welcome to stop by the office and pick your check up on sale day. Any check not picked up by 1 pm on Thursday will be mailed to the sellers address on file. The United States Postal Service unfortunately has a 9 day delivery time now; so while many people receive their checks by the following Monday we ask you to keep your eyes out the following week as the mail can unfortunately lag.

All buyers must be registered at the office: and check in as a buyer for any subsequent sales. WLS requires all prospective buyers to complete a buyers registration and consent form, provide us a copy of your current drivers license, as well as giving us a contact to your local bank to verify your funding. Once all three of these requirements have been satisfied we will assign you a buyers number for the day of the sale! To expedite the registration process you can call the office before sale day to have the necessary forms emailed over to you and your bank for verification.
